Use of FC tippet with braided line?
I have setup my Daiwa BG 2500 spinning reel with 20# Low Vis Sufix 832 braid; I think I need to add a FC leader and FC tippet to this line. I have read that if I'm using a FC leader I should not use a FC tippet. Is this the current thinking? If so, can someone please tell me why? If not, am I going in the right direction as far as my setup? Happy New Year to all...

Q: Is it OK to leave flexible plastic baits out in the air for months +?
Thanks everybody; I forgot about the salt issue... will wait until the night before, or day I go fishing.

Q: Is it OK to leave flexible plastic baits out in the air for months +?
I'm starting to get ready for Spring; as such, I would like to rig some of my rods now, just for something to do and get some practice. Q: if I rig a chatterbait or neko rig, and rig my rods, will the air do some damage to the baits? or should I just wait until the season starts and do it then?

Storage of paddle tail swim baits
I have some Nikko Winnow 95 swim baits that I bought a while ago when I was just starting out with plastic; they have a flat tail vertical on them, and came in a thin hard plastic container. I have taken all of my soft plastic baits and placed them in 4mil envelopes that most, if not all of the manufacturers are now using for shipping and storage and added some worm oil to each envelope. My question is: because the flat tail would not be vertical when stored, and actually be on the same plane as the body of the bait, would it be OK to still store them in the 4mil envelopes with a few drops of worm oil?

I have a St. Croix Mojo Bass Spinning Rod 7' 1" Med Hvy; I'm a newb concerned about my rigging.
Friggs: thanks for the post... all 5 of my rods are St. Croix, along with Diawa reels, loaded with Sufix 832 lines.... I'm still very much a novice bass fisherman, so I'm really looking forward to this coming Spring to be able to practice Finesse fishing on the still waters. Washington State has many fishable lakes in my area, going to try most of them next season.

Found spare spool on eBay... I'm set for next season... Thanks again for the suggestions.

Thank you both for the suggestions; coming from fly fishing, I have never NOT used a leader, so this is going to be very interesting... the fact that Sufix 832 sinks very slowly might be a problem when not using a leader with chatterbaits... With two spools I could use the same reel and rod and switch when needed. Now, I just have to find a place that sells spools, which I don't is going to be a problem.

I'm a newb to bass fishing; that said, I like St. Croix rods, I don't expect to enter any contests, just doing it for fun. I have been reading this forum and notice that most members use braided line like Sufix 832. My rod has suggestions for line weight, etc... of 8-14#. I put on Sufix 832 15# with FC leader using Segar 12# Blue Label I put on 15# low-vis for Finesse fishing with Wacky Rigs, Chatterbaits w/ Yamamoto Zako swimbaits, etc., all still water fishing, (too old for rivers). MY QUESTION IS: is there a better way for me to rig this for what I want to do?
