Possibly trading dacota lithium 12v 100ah battery for a dacota lithium 12v 54ah with questions
This is helpful thank you. My trolling motor is apparently 55lbs of thrust. I looked a little and it was recommended to not go any less than 80ah because of the motherboard i guess. Unfortunately I don't think the 54ah is going to be a good trade for me after researching a bit more.

Possibly trading dacota lithium 12v 100ah battery for a dacota lithium 12v 54ah with questions
I have the opportunity to trade my dacota lithium 12v 100ah battery for a dacota lithium 12v 54 ah battery and wondering if the 54 ah would be enough for my motorguide Xi3 pushing a loaded bonafide ss127 kayak? I currently have the 100ah and its just to heavy for my liking. I have had some back surgeries and I would feel more comfortable with moving a lighter battery around instead of the one I have. Would the 54 ah be enough with as much thrust as it has? Im never on the water more than 4 hours at a time. I was planning on selling my 100ah and looking for a 60 ah but this opportunity came up to trade for the 54 ah and curious if its enough. Thanks!

Looking to purchase 1st fish finder for kayak with some questions
This is helpful, thank you! Im leaning towards the garmin for a few reasons. Ive heard they are pretty simple and user friendly and I like the price point of course too, especially for my first one since I really don't know what I need yet besides depth, water temp and shows me structure directly below me. Another question i have is on one of my kayaks I have 12,volt 100amp for a trolling motor. Can I hook the depth finder up to that one battery and power both of them at same time with no issues?

Looking to purchase 1st fish finder for kayak with some questions
Im looking to purchase my 1st fish finder and install it on my kayak. Ive been looking at one of the Garmin striker 4 models and a hummingbird helix 7 model. So, I have 2 kayaks. A bonafide ss127 and a native slayer propel max 10. Pending on the body water is how i choose which one I will be using. I was wondering if I could own one fish finder but use it on either kayak? Could I easily pop one off and throw it on the other one with no big deal? Im guessing you would need multiple transducers and wiring kits?? Is this a thing that's done normally with no big deal and if so what does it take to do it?Im looking to purchase my 1st fish finder and install it on my kayak. New to punching and could use some recommendations
I would like to start punching grass mats out of my kayak and could use some advice on a rod and reel combo. Im thinking I wouldn't use much over 1 oz maybe 1.5. I was looking at some of the dobyns fury rods. I would like to stay under $200 for a rod. I was looking at the dobyns 765 flip and wondered if that would be enough or if the 805 would be better? Could use reel recommendations too. Thanks in advance

Great! Thank you

Wisconsin bass season
Can you fish bass all year long in Wisconsin as long as you catch and release? Also, if you fish the Mississippi pools in the lacrosse area do you need to get a out of state fishing license if you're a Minnesota resident?

Medium extra fast
That's the part I'm confused about. I also read that they would be good for jerkbaits but with jerkbaits having treble hooks it confused me. I do have a dedicated jerkbait rod already but good to know. That's great if it works well for smaller walking baits like smaller spooks and poppers because that's what I got it for. Thank you fishingmickey!

Medium extra fast
So a little while back I picked up a (6'8 st croix mojo medium extra fast rod) when the older generation went on sale. It says it's a "topwater" rod. What kind of topwater lures would I want to throw with it? I read recently that the extra fast action is good for single hooks not treble. I was considering throwing spooks and poppers and now im thinking that's probably not a good idea because of the treble hooks. Then I was thinking maybe a zoom horny toad with a 4/0 hook might work but then I'm not sure if a medium is strong enough for that application so I'm just curious what most people would use a medium extra fast for? For the moment I paired it with a slx dc 151xg 8.2

Advice on trolling motors for a bonafide ss127 kayak
Thanks for everyone's input. I really appreciate it and its been helpful! I decided to go with the xi3 with GPS and 12v 100ah dacota. Not sure about spending so much on the battery. Hopefully its a really one good and one less thing I have to worry about and I will have confidence in. Good thinking on the extra remote! Where did you purchase it from and how much are they?

Advice on trolling motors for a bonafide ss127 kayak
Hey guys, I could use some advice on picking out a trolling motor for my kayak. I'm looking at the motor guide xi3 GPS and the torqeedo 403a and 403ac. I'm curious if anyone here had either set up and if so, how do you like it? If I went with the xi3 then I need to get the right battery too and I was thinking about the dacota lithium 12v 100ah but wondering if it would be overkill. I don't fish tournaments but I would like to in the future possibly. I wouldn't want to rule it out anyway. The battery comes with the torqeedos I think but not for sure. I'm wondering if the difference between the 403a and 403ac is the battery size? Some advice would be great!! Thanks!

This is great! Thank you so much. I'm taking your recommendation and buying the tatula 200. I was going to ask you about the line that you like to use. I love using braid whenever I can and was wondering what you thought about using straight braid with this setup and what you would recommend for lb of braid and brand. I also started using straight fluorocarbon on my dedicated jerkbait combo which I like too, and i am becoming a little more familiar with it. Is it a bad idea to use straight braid? I'm not super confident in my braid to fc leader knots yet but im working on it. I guess I'd prefer to go straight braid or straight FC to start with but I'm open to any suggestions and recommendations.

Would you recommend the 200 over the 300? What lures worked well for you when you used that combo? I was leaning towards a shimano 300 but after reading some more, it sounds like the tatula is easier to dial in with the breaking. Did you find this to be the case as well? Also, do you think I can throw a 8inch magdraft with that combo that you had or would I need something beefier? Thanks

That is a good point. I don't plan on ever doing any salt water fishing so that being the case would the curado 300k have everything I would need? Also, this is only my 3rd season of taking bass fishing seriously so I might have a silly question or two and its just because I'm not familiar with it all yet. Definitely still a novice. When you refer to the curado 300 are you referring to actually the curado 300 k? Thanks

Yes, you're right. I don't plan on throwing many 4oz and if I do start throwing heavier lures I plan on getting a heavier rod. This rod is meant as my beginners rod I guess into throwing a little larger swimbaits and lures over 1oz. I do know I would like to throw an 8inch magdraft and am hoping for a setup that does that well. So far I'm kind of leaning towards the tranx 201 or 301. Do you think this will be enough rod for the 8inch magdraft? I think its over 3oz. I know lure ratings aren't always accurate and it is a concern of mine. I just couldn't pass up the deal I got on this rod and would like to make the most of it.

This is great information thank you. It wouldn't be a problem throwing a 4oz lure with the Curado dc?

Have you had any problems with the drag loosening up on your tranx reels? I noticed there's some reviews out there with that complaint. These reviews were on the 301AHG and was curious if you know or not if it's just the the hg model or both 301A and 301AHG?
