That makes sense. I wanted to treat myself. I am positive that a reel half the price is great. I just wanted to buy the Antares and am sure I'll be happy with it every time I use it. That was what I wanted out of this purchase.

Thanks for all the feedback. Just ordered a lefthanded Antares DC this morning. I also see the problem that y'all mentioned because I wound up adding three titanium billed Diawa diving baits that I've never seen before in addition to the reel. This is gonna get expensive.

I noticed that. I will stick to reels and not rods unless it's just a steal on a rod.

Well, this thread made my re-entry into bass fishing from fly fishing way more expensive!! Thanks guys, I really appreciate the feedback. Definitely seems to me that the way to go is JDM shops for high end reels and knowing it's safe make me feel good about the selection and pricing.

I'm treating myself and want an Antares DC. Only hesitation is that I'm getting back into bass fishing and haven't bought from a Japan Tackle or Digitaka yet. Just need some assurances from others that the transactions are smooth. Thanks in advance.

Thanks y'all. This is exactly what I was looking for. I was leaning to the shorter rod, but now am going for the 7 footer. Normally, I don't think too much about resale, but these aren't 150 dollar rods.

I'm trying to decide between the Conquest 783C and the 843C. I'd like this rod to be the most versatile rod in my arsenal, so my thought is to go with the shorter 6'6" rod as it is better for spinnerbaits and I'll be fishing around Lake LBJ the most, so I'll be fishing docks quit a bit too. Ultimately, I'll have a short spinner bait specific rod and a 7' or 7'1 MH jigging/worm rod. This particular purchase is for a versatile rod and I think I like the length for spinnerbaits as well. I appreciate any thoughts in advance.
