Minn Kota trolling motor
Bass Pro Shops is having a sale on the Minn Kota 65lb All Terrain bow mount. Regularly $499 and on sale for $399. I was very hesitant about getting a 24 volt motor but have decided I may go ahead. Can I get any opinions on this trolling motor from people who have one or had one? Let me hear the good, the bad, and the ugly. Very interested in hearing about performance and battery life. Thanks Tony

Prop question
I recently bought a 17 foot Bass Tracker with a 40 HP Force motor. I called a boat shop before taking it out and found out that the maximum rpm's for this motor is between 4750 to 5250. When I had it on the water I had to back out of the throttle to keep it at 5100 rpm's. The motor currently has a 13 pitch prop on it and have been told I need to go to a 15 pitch. What is everyones thoughts on this? From the research I have done the 2 inches in pitch will slow the motor down about 400 rpm's. What is the difference between going to the 15 pitch prop and being able to run the motor at WOT or keeping the 13 pitch prop and having to back down on the throttle a little? I would like to hear all suggestions everyone has about my setup. Thanks for the help! Tony

Cleaning aluminum bass tracker
I bought a 17' Bass Tracker and the previous owner let the outside get stained from a muddy lake. It is not very bad. Only has a water line on it. I want to go over the entire outside and clean it. What can I use? Can I use a SOS pad? What does everyone recommend to clean the aluminum? Thanks Tony

what gauge wire?
I had a 12 foot jon boat and ran 4 gauge from the battery in the back to the tm on the front. Within 1' of the battery you will want to put a fuse or a breaker. I like the breaker because if for any reason it trips you just reset it and you don't have to worry about carrying extra fuses. You can get the wire and breaker from most auto stereo shops. They will sale the wire by the foot and most stereo wire is flexible. Hope this helps. Good luck. Tony

Water Pump
Hey everyone! I just bought a 1996 17' Basstracker with a 40HP Force motor on it. The man I bought it from had not used it in almost 2 years. Since it had not been used recently I decided to go ahead and do all the preventive maintenance that I thought it needed. I changed the water pump impeller, the lube in the lower unit, drained and put new gas in it, and changed the plugs. After doing this it starts right up and idles just fine but it does not spit alot of water out at idle. If i put it in gear and bring the rpm's up a little it spits more out then. I am doing this in my yard with the water hose hooked up to it. Is this right or should it be spitting out a good bit of water? I want to take it and put it in the lake and see how it does but I don't want to risk having it overheat. How can I tell it the installation is ok and it is pulling enough water through it? Thanks!
