After figuring out a decent system for this I will never go without having a second rod. I just carry an old backpack with tackle trays for a tacklebox. This backpack has a cupholder on each side. I just put the handle of the rod I'm not using in the offside cup holder and run a small bungy strap to the base of my backstrap strap and it works pretty well. Can be a bit inconvenient at times if I have trees overhead but definitely worth taking.
