  1. I know hummingbird has one for their units, but does the model listed in the title have something like it? I can't find it on my unit.
  2. Just trying to find the best place on lake nimrod to put in a kayak to go bass fishing. I put in on the east side of the lake last time i went. There was very little cover and most of the coves were REALLY shallow. I heard the west portion is better, but looking at a map i cant tell where would be the best place to put in.
  3. Thqnks guys. Very helpful. So whats up with Fish Reveal? What is it and does it come with the unit and/or transducer? Anything specific you have to do to get it?
  4. What do you mean by "inline fuse"? I have no clue what ur talki g about here 😆
  5. Thanks guys. Very helpful! @Puggz im buying it from a friend. Too good of a deal to pass up is the best way i can put it.
  6. Hello, all. I came across a good deal on a lowrance hds 12 pro. However, im brand new to fish finders. I have a few questions if any one could possibly help. 1. Can i hook my electronics to my 100 ah lithium battery that i use for my trolling motor and function both at the same time? 2. As far as lake maps, im lead to believe it comes with some preloaded lake maps??? But how do i know if lowrance or even navionics etc have my lakes on them? 3. When using sidescan, can i figure out the exact distance from kayak to the structure/cover to cast to it? 4. Can i make a way point to the previously mentioned structure/cover that will show up on the side scan? I feel like this would make it easier to find it again. I dunno??? Im sure i have more questions, but this seems like a good start. Also, im aware ill need a different transducer plate to use sidescan due to the fact mine sits flush to my kayak.
  7. I actually did try the hudd 8. Was surprised at how good it skipped....like a big flat rock! Did not get any bites though.
  8. How well does the bull wake skip? I have to fish under a lot of branches. Ive been thinking about buying one but if it doesnt skip well then i probably wont buy one.
  9. Yes im in the south. Im in Arkansas actually. Ive been fishing a lake called Lake Atkins in west central Arkansas. In the early 2000's it was drained and restocked with florida strain LMB. Ive been kayak fishing it a lot lately. Have caught some good fish but nothing over 5 lbs. I finally committed to a big bait set up and bought the xh SLX swimbait rod. I have it paired with a 6.3:1 slx reel for now but plan on getting a more swimbait appropriate reel in the near future. I also have it spooled up with 65 lb power pro and 20 lb cxx leader.
  10. Budget is not TOO much of an issue but id like to save noney if possible. As for depth, 1-4 feet is about the range i will be fishing in. Pretty much just around cypress roots and your occasional lay down. I recently purchased savage gear's 8 inch pulse tail in dirty silver and kokanee. I also got the 8 inch hudd in ayu.
  11. I forgot to add i flex coated the wood as well ?
  12. I just got into swimbait fishing. I fish a shallow lake with a bunch of cypress trees that make up the majority of the shoreline. The water is stained but not muddy. What are some good suggestions for swimbaits and/or glide baits that you would throw here? And btw gizzard shad are very abundant in this lake.
  13. Okay. My makana 100 now has a trolling motor where the pedal drive was. It was an easy modification to be honest! All me and a buddy did was make a plate out of wood that would fit in the pedal drive port, bolt a small aluminum plate on the underside of the wood for added support, de-lid a trolling motor to cut the shaft down, then drill a hole through the plates that would fit the trolling motor. Works great!
  14. I would like to install a trolling motor where my pedal drive goes into my makana 100. Anybody have any thoughts on a preferably cheap way I could do this. Thanks.
  15. Just like the title states. Is there a spring or anything else I could haveost as well? Can I just order a new knob and be done? I can see the bearing in there with a little bent wire pressed up against it.
