  1. I have an hds live at the helm and I just picked up a hds gen 3 for the bow. I plan to only use the gen 3 on the bow for gps (finding the waypoints I mark while side scanning). Do I only need an ethernet cable for this? Do I need to update the software on the gen 3? I have been trying to research but I am finding some conflicting info.
  2. Are you local or just visiting? If you could find a paddle board or kayak that would help a ton. If not then you can catch fish in landa park. You can also walk the banks around the boat launches on canyon lake; it's been fishing pretty well lately.
  3. Thanks for the info! I wish I had a way to get that from you. There's a PS31 transducer for sale in my area on FB. I am not sure what they are worth used so just out of curiosity, how much would you want for it so I can use that as a reference?
  4. I've never used electronics for anything other than gps and basic downscan off the transom. I have a garmin echomap chirp 94sv at the helm now but I just got a new 12" lowrance hds live to replace it. I would like to relocate the garmin unit to the bow and run panoptix. My question is which transducer should I get? I am pretty sure my options are ps22-tr, ps30, and ps31. I don't have any experience with panoptix so I'm not really sure how these transducers differ and which would be best for my application. Also, will I need a sonar module or do these transducers work directly to the display unit?
