  1. basshuntin started following Rod suggestions
  2. Im new to this forum, and relatively new to taking fishing seriously. I bought my first 'decent' rig, I wanted something universal from blue gill to small/largemouth bass. I went with a 7' ML Fast action St Croix Premier 2 pc so I could keep it stored in my truck safely out of the way of my tools, that way I always have it on me. For a reel I got a Quantum E30PTiD used from my dad. I like the set up for what I built it for. However, I want to build some more specific rods for when we go on trips l, now that Ive confirmed my interest in the sport. The rod I am looking at for my bass rod is a one piece St Croix Legend Tournament Bass in either M, Fast action or MH, Moderate action. Considering my Premier is stiffer than a normal ML F Im worried that a MH might be too stiff but the moderate action may help with that? On the other hand, already owning a ML F, I am nervouse a M F would just be too similar and waste my efforts to diversify. Any oppinions appreciated, also if you want to suggest a different rod feel free. The reel I will be running on it is a Daiwa Ballistic MQ LT 3000 most likely. Context: Mid Michigan lake fisher. Mainly large and small mouth bass for this setup.
