  1. Free is probably the best thing. Not welding them and being able to add and subtract would be a great idea. They all have the eyelets cast in already so an easy way to take on and off. Thanks for the idea
  2. My son lost our navy anchor over the weekend. We have a 17 ft lund aluminum boat. I have a bunch of window sash weights and was curious if welding some of these together to make a 20 or 25 lb anchor would work well? Inland lakes and rivers in upper Midwest is primary use areas. Can add feet for diggers as well with scrap iron, but feel I'd rather stay away from that if possible. The weights would be relatively snag free. Thanks
  3. Thanks for the responses. I ended up purchasing the boat. Picking up from Okoboji this weekend. Excited to get my boys out fishing on it next weekend. Will post a pic later.

  5. Just curious if an excellent shape '72 Lund VFR 17 is still worth looking at? It would serve purpose of fishing and family fun. Maybe 10 times a year. It's 50 years old but in great shape, will these boats keep going strong with care and maintenance? Lake and rivers in the midwest is primary usage. Thanks
