  1. Bucketmouth- I just got the same Browning Midas reel you are talking about... nothing but problems. I'm taking it back to BPS and getting another Shimano. I've heard great things about the Citica. I have a Shimano Curado 200B5 and have never had a problem. With the Browning, I have tried every barke/friction combo and the thing backlashes mid cast every time. Good luck.
  2. Yeah, I've pretty much come to the same conclusion. I'll return it and get another Shimano. Thanks for your input guys.
  3. I just purchased the Browning Midas 6.4:1 bc reel and it has been nothing but problems. I have it on a 6'6" Woo Daves MH trigger rod that I primarily use for worm'n. I have set the friction control and the braking system every which way I can think of, and it still backlashes mid cast. I have even put every brake on as well as the friction control and still get a backlash. Is it me, or is the brake system messed up? I have Shimano Curado 200B5 that I can cast with no problem. Does anyone own a Browning, or couldvpossibly give me some hints.
  4. I've had the best luck with Zoom Horny Toads (Junebug & Black) and a green and black Stanley Ribbit.
