  1. My transducer was mounted almost identicaly to the pics. I dropped mine to the bottom of the mounts (loosened screws slid transducer down and retighted). It is now reading the bottom at least to 5 MPH (no wake lake) but it would not even do that before. going to run it this weeken on plane and see. Will post pics. Quackn8r
  2. Thanks for the info. It was strange that a Cabela's sales rep and the motorguide tech support rep did not know how the motor was supposed to function Quackn8r
  3. Newbie to this forum. I got a 2006 PT 175 this spring have had several issues but most are resolved. This may be a dumb question but have never had a foot controled trolling motor. I have a MotorGuide FW46 on the front of the boat The question is: How is the high speed bypass suposed to work? I was told by the sales rep that when the switch is in constant mode the trolling motor spins at speed based on the speed control at all times. In the momentary mode the motor spins at speed based on the speed control only when the momentary switch is depressed. In the high speed bypass the motor runs speed based on speed contol unless the mometary is depressed then ir runs at full speed. The motor works as prescribed in the first two cases but in high speed bypass is does not turn at all unless the momentary switch is depressed then is runs at full speed. I went to the Cabela's and the sales rep there did not have and answer I even called Motor Guide and the gal I spoke with was unsure on the operation. With all the trouble I have had with this boat I am suspitious of everything. Thanks in advance, Quackn8r

  5. I have a a 2006 PT175 with the Lowrance X37. the tranducer mounted by Tracker or Bass Pro Shop in the same location (but opposite side) and I have the same issue with reading the bottom or anything else at almost any speed using the outboard. I put an Eagle Fish Easy 320 on the bow, mouning the skimmer tansducer to the trolling motor. This works very well. No electrical noise from the trolling motor at all. I will experiment with mount location of the rear transducer and see what works best for me and post my results. Quackn8r
