  1. Here are some pics of the trailer remodel. I started off with my old 14' flat bottom boat trailer. I stripped everything off of it and grinded all the old paint off. I primed everything and painted. I got new tires and rims, new winch, new jack, and lights. I had to fabricat some bunk risers (I wasn't going to pay $100 for some) and they turned out great. I used decking boards for the bunks. I wanted to add some side bunks as well, so I fabricated those as well. I think everything turned out well on the trailer.
  2. Here are a few pics of the start of the process. I am still adding the aluminum for the deck extensions. After I finish with the aluminum, I'm hoing to start the wiring process.
  3. I would really like to start an updated post about the Pro 120's. Just to get some insight on what others have done to theirs. A few months back, I found a Sun Dolphin Pro 120 on FB Marketplace. I traded the guy a Blackstone griddle for it. It looks almost new. So me being me, I wanted to make it better by extending both decks, adding depth finder, lights, etc..... I am now ready to do all the wiring. I have tried the magnet idea, but there is insulation in the way. I really want to split the boats hull to run all the wires. I think this would allow me to run all the wires and hide them in the hull. BUT, I have been told by others who have split theirs before, that it is not worth splitting just to do the wiring. Has anyone done this before l that might share some details about putting it back together? Also, is there any other modifications that anyone else has done to these boats before? I will do my best to update my progress throughout my rebuild.
  4. Hey everyone. I hope people still checks this thread, because I need some advice. I got a Pro 120 a few months back and I am totally redoing it (extending decks, adding storage, lights, depth finder, etc....) I am wanting to split my hull to run wires for all my accessories. I do believe this would be the easiest way to run wires and hide the wires. If I split the hull, I believe I could wire everything up in a few hours, but I have been told that it is not worth splitting the hull just to do wiring. Has anyone done this just to run wires? For those of you that have split the hull, did you put staples back around the seam? If so, what kind of staples did you use? Did it take a special staple gun? Were you able to reuse the "rubrail"? I emailed KL Industries and they replied with the process of joining the two parts of hull together, but couldn't tell me exactly what staples or staple gun were used. I have taken the control panel off and tried to use magnets to run fishing line through the hull, but there is styrofoam up towards the top of the hull, so this method isn't going to work. I thought about getting a fiberglass fish tape and try to push through the styrofoam, but haven't tried it yet. So if anyone has run wires through the hull without splitting it, what did you do that worked? Any advise or pics would be greatly appreciated. I am also trying to create an account so I can share pictures, but I guess I'm too stupid to pass the security check!
