Hi. I am from the Bay Area. My story goes like this. We had a newish reservoir on the farm in deep Coachella Valley in the ‘60s. Cement lined. Catfish came from the canal water, from the Colorado. Dad taught us to fish early, by ten I was on the bank every evening fishing for cats. As the years went by, the reservoir grew algae/weeds and soon bullfrogs could be seen and heard. Then one day I was chasing around a Kildeer chick on the bank and it ran into the water to escape. It was quickly inhaled by a fish. Largemouth. It was game on for me.
I went on to fish all I could. Luckily enough to catch fish in Saskatewan, Idaho and Tarpon in Costa Rica. Bass is the bomb though. Fish in Bon Tempe and Alpine Lake in Marin County Ca are my current targets.
