  1. They are… I can’t really exchange it as I got it from digitaka.
  2. I recently picked up a JDM Metanium 2020 for my jerkbait fishing. I read that it has amazing casting distance and that I would be able to bomb lures with this reel which is why I picked it over the zillion. (I fish from the bank mostly) Instead I’m on the verge of backlashing every single cast and my maximum casting distance with this thing is maybe 20 yards if I’m lucky. I run 10lb fluoro, spool doesn’t wiggle, 2 brakes are engaged and SVS brakes are between 3-4. I mega backlash if lower them to 2/1 and get 0 casting distance when upping them. Why? I have used bait casters for a long time and know how to cast. Is the reel a lemon or am I missing something? Thanks in advance!
  3. how does the Metanium 100 do with baits ranging from 1/4-3/4oz in you experience. I'm looking for a jerkbait reel that handles that range well +-.
  4. Yes, my issue was that i would have to order the zillion from Japan and that does get quite expensive when based in Europe. The SLX dc xt on the other hand is common here and doesn’t cost a lot. Buying the jdm zillion from a Danish website would cost me around 600$. Ordering one from Japan would set me back 100$ more than a U.S. customer. I wanted to be 100% certain before spending what is for me, a large sum of money. Especially when there is such substantial overpay.
  5. Okay, my math might have been off, I have the 7-21g expride and a 1/4-5/8 crankbait rod. Reel needs to fit both. I’ll definitely try not to shy away from reels that aren’t the newest on the market now, thanks!
  6. 1/4-3/4 oz might be more realistic. What reel would you recommend for this?
  7. I probably have to be more realistic then and say 1/4-3/4oz. I have the 7-21g expride and wanted to make sure I could cast light baits on it too
  8. You are right. I just need a reel that I can use on my 1/4-5/8oz crankbait rod and my 7-21g expride
  9. Hi, I am in the market for a new 7.1.1 reel for lures between 0.18 - 0.74oz. I’ve considered both the jdm daiwa 21 zillion SV TW as well as the SLX XT DC. I’m leaning towards the Zillion, but I’m concerned with the fact that it’s from 2021. Does it still hold up to today’s standards? And are there any better alternatives like the salamandura or something entirely different? I don’t have the funds to constantly upgrade my setup when something new hits the market, so I would rather not spend my money on a reel that is outdated, or that will be in the near future. Thanks in advance🎣
  10. Perfect, I’ll get the 7.1.1 zillion off of DIGITAKA then. It has 29.4 inches per turn. Thanks for the in-depth answer!
  11. I recently picked up a G Loomis imx pro crankbait rod. It casts 1/4-5/8oz, and I’m looking for a reel to pair it with. I’ve considered a Daiwa Zillion, but I’m concerned that I won’t be able to find another use for a reel with a gear ratio as low as that of the Zillion (5.5:1). And spending 320 bucks on a reel that i can only use for crankbait fishing once in a blue moon is not worth it for me really. So is the Zillion only usable for crank bait fishing or would I be able to use it comfortably for other stuff like fishing topwater, jerkbaits and paddle tails? If not, I would love some recommendations on reels that fit the casting weight but can be used more diversely. Thanks in advance
