I will agree that the biggest mistake people make is not watching their slack line. I tend to hate braid because I wade and don't have the easiest time getting out cutters, and I no hate when braid gets stuck to bottom, but I agree that you have to keep an eye for "tics" or your line swimming/moving in an unnatural way. Just don't let them eat it too long before setting the hook. If they don't like it, they'll spit it be gone by hookset. If they do like it, and you wait too long with slack line, it'll be in their stomach and you'll have a higher likelihood of major injury or fatality to the fish, which no true fisherman wants.
