  1. I am looking for a musky rod and reel combo or at least something that shouldnt have a problem with casting lures and catching musky. I dont have alot of money to purchase an expensive one, i understand they are most of the time quite expensive but if anyone knows something affordable that i could get from anywhere, that would be great. i have also been going for pike recently, i have a 65lb translucent - white braid but ive heard with pike you NEED a leader of some sort. I dont know if i need one or not and would appreciate some advice on that.
  2. I started to take fishing more seriously during this summer and have a few questions that would be very useful if i could have some answers. I bought a Abu Garcia 7ft medium heavy zata rod and reel combo from someone and it has 65 lb translucent white braid on it. I mainly fish for bass pike and occasionally walleye and trout maybe. Im not sure if i should get other rods for certian fish, like i am going on a trip north soon and i will fish for musky there, but im not sure if i should be taking this rod and using it for musky since ive heard that the bigger lures can break it overtime. If im using mainly bucktail, big whopper ploppers and maybe glide baits, will i need a designated rod for musky and if so what lb line shhould i use on it. Now my other question, which is for my current rod, is the 65lb braid too much? Ever since i switeched to that line its casted really well. i have mono underneath with alberto knot for little slippage. If you think i should switch the line out on that rod what lb should i go to. I dont have alot of money to spend on fishing sadly but if i will be needing stuff then ill look into it. Thank you to anyone that helps.
