sorry i didn't clarify that i have a TE.didn't realize they didn't make a 300 in the base calcutta.

shimano crucial 7'11"xh $149 with an over the counter life time warranty. cardiff 300 or 400 $109 or curado 300 $249. i use a crucial with a calcutta 300 can pretty much throw any swimbait available.

from my understanding the palomar and floro do not work to well together.many recommend a San Diego jam knot.

for under $200 i don't think you can beat a Powell.

i also pitch to a target and let it sit for a bit.then hop or shake it.also i like to bounce it off of sunken tree limbs.give you self some time to gain confidence in the jig.confidence is key.
