  1. Bummmer, had I known that I may have come that way, guess I should have checked. : We ended up staying here in southeast Iowa and even though the water is getting cold we slaughtered em on shallow cranks in the timber today. Thanks for the info though and I have the day off tomorrow too so who knows, maybe I'll go that way. Randy
  2. Well HH, we did well there today. 46 degree water and all we still landed over 50 bass. No real Hawgz but lots of quality fish. Most of them caught on a shallow running Matzuo crank in black/chrome/orange combo. Here's one of the many fish we caught like this today.
  3. Hey guys, Just wondering if any of you have fished Mark Twain Lake lately and how it went. I am heading that way either tomorrow or Monday and was wondering if anyone had a first hand report? Thanks, Randy
  4. I don't fish tournaments but I do fish back of the boat with my buddies somethimes. I usually just try to fish the water they aren't fishing. Chances are they didn't hit everything. I know I never do as a front of the boat angler. I can usually catch fish too. Maybe cause my front of the boat buddies are just being nice. :
  5. I know where Iowa is. This event is on my home stretch of water. Pool 19. I am stoked about it. Can't believe the small town of Ft. Madison got this pulled off. I never figured I would get an elite series event near me let alone on my home water. Randy
  6. I have got into them a lot this year. Mainly for the reason you mentioned. Lots of sales and good buys. Overall they seem reel nice and I have caught a lot of fish on the jerk baits this year already. Got quite a few of the shallow running cranks too but haven't really given them a shot yet.
  7. I was their when I was your age. I just tried to find a lure that wasn't too complicated to fish like a spinnerbait and went out and practiced a lot eventually you get confidence in what you are doing and it all starts to get easier. Just keep fishing. Just wanted to say hey to everyone I am new to the site but have heard a lot of great things about it.
