Best day fishing ever...maybe?!?!?
most people set the hook way to early when using a buzzbait, make sure you FEEL the fish before you set it, i know it's tempting, the blowup rocks! also try slowing your retrieve to as slow as possible with the blades still kickin' the surface... where was this pond? 8-)

oiling and maintaing reel advice
I have nice reels that get A LOT of use and really don't know how to or where to oil the reels and I can tell they need it as I've probably lost 40% distance and notice their not as smooth any more (baitcasters by the way) side question, do you remove the line? please advise and be as descriptive as possible, very much appreciated as I don't want to damage my nice stuff. Most are shimano if that matters...

Super light rod suggestions (baitcasting)
I've got a new reel on the way and I'd like to put it on a super light (weight) rod, anyone have any suggestions? I don't want to pay more than $100 for the rod (plus shipping) so please keep that in mind when suggesting... I've already got a Carrot stick with a revo on it but I want a suggestion of something a little cheaper and almost as light, there has to be something close, I know the e21 are the lightest things out there... any particular suggestions?

fishing line 101
can someone please explain to me in laymans terms the difference between fishing lines lb test and the diameter and stuff, i don't get it, for example 10lb test but it says 20lb diameter, like what does that mean? also please provide ideal situations for different size lines... the fishing line section on bassresource.com wasn't very helpful to me so i'm looking beyond that. Thanks guys!

what's the difference in rods labeled for lures?
what's the difference in rods labeled for fishing lures? such as a rod that says 'Topwater' or 'crankbait' or ' worm rod' or 'spinnerbait'? I've always wondered what makes them so specific to a certain type of fishing as far as lures go... can anyone explain? Thanks!

What makes reels cost so much?
thank you very much guys, that is very informative. on a side note... Raul, could you go over the differences of the Chronarch MG VS. the Chronarch b(I think? the 269.99 one) what's the difference there, what makes the B series 20 dollars more? that doesn't seem that drastic but the reels look totally different...

What makes reels cost so much?
guys, I wasn't complaining at all, I'm just trying to better understand my equipment, I can tell when I use my better reels vs. not so good reels that they are better but i just want to know why they are? what's involved? I raised the question for my own knowledge as I know there are some very knowledgeable people on here when it comes to every spec of a reel...

Spooling a Baitcaster
i just lined my baitcaster, i used monofilament backing and the braided line 20lb stealth spiderwire and it appears to have a minor twist in the line :-/ this has never happened to me with braided line and I spooled it correctly by reeling on the line with someone holding the spool facing me with a screwdriver and the line coming off the top of the spool... is this minor twist just caused from being new line that just needs to be wet and used a few times? that's my guess, I wasn't able to try it out yet as I had to leave for work but it's just bothering me hereat work as I can't mess with it.
