I have a 14' Landau with a front casting deck, and I'm running a 40# edge on the bow. As said previously, it's a strain under load in current. I also have a 3hp Minn Kota that I occassionally use on the back. For use on ponds & lakes, I like to use the bow mounted motor, but on shallow rivers, I use the stern mount because it will run in shallower water.
Good looking boat! The fish might like it so much they'll just jump into the livewell! ;D
I might be interested in your Tracker. Send me a pm when you've set a price, etc.
Definitely go along with the wading! Had a great couple of days off the New River fishing 4" grubs in black and watermelon. Haven't done it in about 20 years, but used to have tons of fun fly-fishing the creeks off the James River in central VA.
One word of caution! Wading can be dangerous, so always wear a pfd when you wade.
Almost 20 years ago now, I was on the bow of the boat heading upriver (upper James) when we hit a rock and sent me flying! I landed across the leading edge of the bow and my head went into the water. I broke 3 ribs and took awhile to heal. The worst part was, we didn't catch any fish
I wear SoSpenders. Very comfortable except on the hottest of days. After wearing them for an hour, I forget I have them on. I've loaded the boat and gotten in the truck only to realize then that I was still wearing them. They're a bit pricey, but I'll wear them. I can't say that for the other 8 or 10 I have hanging up in the shed.
I can't think of anything funnier than Bill Dance's blooper shows!
