  1. Well looks like ill be getting a new rod , this will be the first quality rod I have ever owned. I'm looking at the AS68MXF , AS70MF , and the AS70MHF..... I dont know much about rods , anyone think they can give me an opinion on wich would be best for the sought after "General purpose" rod, I dont throw cranks much because i fish from shore, but do like throwing soft plastics, jerkbaits , spinnerbaits, and all kinds of topwater, I do plan on learning jigs but need to pick some up first probably, with this rod. I fish ponds most of the time with a good amount of plantlife in them. BTW I'll be paring it up with a Pflueger President 6740X if that makes any kind of difference. Thanks for any help!
  2. Well I live in Cali and I dont beleive theres a Dicks here, does anyone know somewhere else it might be able to be found cheap... or maybe somewhere online? thanks
  3. Ok, im upgrading my gear soon and would like some input on what rod i should get...i have about 200$ to spend.I need a reel also, and would like some extra money i could spend on lures as I dont have much selction. I was Going to get a BPS extreme and pflueger president spinning combo when it was on sale fore 100$. well i waited a little to long and its not on sale anymore. it got me considering just dishin out a little more doe and getting a higher quality rod.I have never used a rod much better than an ugly stik and a couple other cheap poles borrowed from friends. At BPS they have some Avid rods on sale for 120$ and am definitly considering this. but i just wanted to get some other opinions before making the purchase. This rod will be my all around rod cuz i only fish from the shore and dont want to tote around more than 1 setup....ive never used a baitcaster so am probably gonna get a spinning setup, the baits i use most are probably jerkbaits, spinnerbaits and soft plastics. The waters i usually fish are kind of weedy also. I'm just looking for any input on a good all around rod that can be found for around 100$ and maybe some suggestions on length and power. Any input is greatly aprriciated. BTW im not sure on what line ill use but i hear many good things about yo-zuri hybrid ultra soft... i was just wondering if this line will work well with topwater lures seeing as it sinks....thanks for any input guys.

Hey everyone , Im pretty new to fishin. I have fished a little in the past one the river here, just the cast and wait type of deal and was never really interested by it. Recently my friend called me up randomly and asked me if i wanted to go fishing with him on a pond by hear. So i dug through my garage and found my old pole , a 20$ walmart shakespear, when we hit the water I caught a bluegill on a little trout spinner and some bass off a crankbait I bought and some rubber worms. After that little fishin trip i found out how fun and relaxing it can be and try to go all the time now. I wanna upgrade my pole somtime soon and was wondering if anyone had suggestions and somthing cheap, around 50$, that would be a nice upgrade from my current one. I'll fishing almost exlusivly off shore if that make any differnence. Thanks for any help and cant wait to hit the water somemore.
