  1. Putting motor on bass boat

    Hey everybody. I am looking to buy a bass boat, but it doesn't have the motor. The owner says it had a 30HP Mercury on it previously. Forgive me for my ignorance but can I put any motor on it, or does it have to be a Mercury? What about HP? Also, do I need one with "controls" or not? I would really appreciate your feedback.     Hello everybody. I am somewhat new to fishing. I have fished offshore when I was younger but only recently started fishing off a boat. Can anyone give me some "need to have" bait? I prefer fishing bass, but if I can catch something, I'm happy! What type of bait/lures should I get to help me catch some nice bass? All feedback would be greatly appreciated. Don't be shy!
