  1. Im super stoked for Sat, every time i fish down there i only catch dinky fish hopefully with a good guide (Dan lol) we can slam some hogs and if things go well weather wise im down for going out again on sunday to get some SH's and hit up the bass flats
  2. Well just got back, missed the hookset on two very decent snakes before dan arrived, but the tide was working against us when Dan got here so we went and did some bass fishing. Between Dan, a buddy and myself we slammed maybe 25 bass on topwater with our share of missed hooksets within an hour and a half, overall a very exciting day for us
  3. Dan, Ive got a jon boat with trolling motor we can use in the creek, only think is we gotta push the trailer down to the water which is like 50 yards or so unless you got a tow hitch lol
  4. So lately I found a new technique that has produced very well for me in this period when the snakeheads are either going deeper or burying themselves in the muck and becoming less active. Yesterday i landed 6 the biggest being 8lbs and today I landed two within half an hour with one monster 12lber. If anyone wants to meet up with me in the Alexandria/Mount Vernon area to learn a new technique let me know! It only works on a low tide so tomorrow evening around 6 is when i'll be targeting them but I'll be bass fishing throughout the day if anyones interested in that too.
  5. in the evenings on an incoming fast tide they start to show up at the mouths of creeks to feed, typically topwater. Throwing a popper and burning it acros the surface with get you strikes everytime. I've been catching up to 10lbs so far under the bridge near Mount Vernon Estates off the parkway at riverside park. Also if you have a boat you can head over to pomunkey creek directly across from hollowing point there excellent striper fishing there around this time. They'll hit anything from poppers to swimbaits here, even spoons Cordinates Spot 1 38.712683,-77.074463 Spot 2 38.634211,-77.105513

nice little SH, I've been tearing them up on buzzbaits, 4-5 a day
  8. I hear you man, made the mistake to bringing two rods and a full 30lb tackle bag one time...worst wade trip ever lol And if you dont mind picking up it'd be great, I just didnt want you to have to go out of your way man I'll PM you
  9. Also the stiper are hitting at the mouth of the creeks in the evenings really good, nothing over 10lbs but still fun
  10. I'll be fishing the potomac today also, are you going out via boat? I've been catching them in little hunting creek along the weed beds on t-rigged lizards real slowly with the current, and spinnerbairs in the evening. Caught over 40 in the past 2 days, if you want we can meet up and fish together, I've been looking for a partner to go out with today

  12. I'm so down for this! If you still have a seat i could meet up with you at your place are something man, let me know thanks Thai
  13. thanks guys! This creek has always produced big fish for me esp right at the inlet during a fast tide on big swimbaits, you'll catch the occasional 15-20" striper too during summer months
  14. Went out boating and bbqing at a friends place in Pomonkey creek this Sat and decided i wanted to get my rod wet right before dusk. Started jigging off the dock with lizards along the weeds in about 3" of water. Caught 3 small 1-2's before getting slammed by this hog on a watermelon lizard on an outgoing tide. Weighed in at 7#2 and 23"
