Cold Front Help!!??

Featured Replies

I am planning on going out on my local lake for the first time this year. The weather for this was has been as follows: Monday 70's, Tuesday's upper 70's, Wednesday 62-63, and then forcasted 60 degrees for Thursday and Friday with blue bird sky's on Friday. I am going out Friday. So just wondering what your approach would be. It is a man-made reservoir, with visability about 2-3 ft, with no weeds or submerged vegitation. I don't know what the water temperature is at this time. What do you think my chances are? Is this going to be a tough day? Any thoughts would be appreciated!!

I will be in the same situation. The overnight lows are going to move them back a bit, and later in the afternoon they could move a bit shallower but tight to cover. My plan is to fish some primary and secondary points with jig/worm early. Once the sun is up and it starts to warm a bit, may pitch to wood or tight to any other cover.

You may be ok in deeper water with the jig. The water is still pretty cold in the deeper water. So I would still at least slow down. Good luck!

I would focus on hitting up the edge lines where shallow water turns deep. They should start staging from deep to shallow for the spawn. And with the recent cold front think slow.

Slow roll a big spinnerbait on deeper breaklines

Deep fish less effected by weather effecting me up top=me always fishing deep.

Seems like more and more every year I avoid shallow water.
