Frog Hair Finesse Skirt
I recently ordered some finesse skirts from an online retailer. It's frog hair silicone, not the rubber stuff. I'm not familiar with this skirt material and wondered how it's fall rate would differ from regular silicone skirt material. Being thinner would it fall faster?

Hack Attack Hook
I'm using 50 lb braid with a heavy rod, fast action rod. I'm bending hooks, I think it's because of setting the hook on a slightly slack line sometimes. Sometimes I'm opening them on walleye and pike. Just go through a lot of jigs, can't make them fast enough lol. I just put an order in for some of the invader jigs from fishingskirts. Look like an interesting jig. apparently very stout.

Hack Attack Hook
Im looking for a stout hook that wont bend. The only hook so far that ive found to stand up to multiple fish for me is the gammy 2034 ewg. .063 gauge. I've tried the owner 5304 and 5317, mustad 32786 and theyve all bent on me. The gammy 2034 is a great hook and it works great for my jig sizes 5/16-9/16 however for my 3/4 arky mold it doesnt work, the hook is too close to the weedguard cavity. Also the gammy only comes in 4/0. Here's what Greg Hackney has said about the hook - (1) So it was no surprise last year when Strike King Lures, with whom Hackney is associated, came out with a its “Hack Attack” signature jig. The jigs come in 3/8 to 1 1/4-ounce sizes in nine colors, with a specially-designed head. A Gamakatsu black nickel heavy wire hook features a 30-degree line tie and is 3/0 in the smallest jig, 5/0 up to 1 ounce and 6/0 on the largest jig. (2) Armed with his desire to have the perfect Flippin’ jig, and the world class design team at Strike King, Hackney set out to produce his dream lure. The outcome would be a lure that is not for the faint of heart, one that would stand up to the rigors of heavy cover and big jaws of monster bass. “The Hack Attack is tweaked to perfection,” Hackney opined. “The weight is perfectly balanced to fall straight down; it has the perfect 34-strand weedguard and a 27-degree line tie on a heavy Gamakatsu saltwater hook.”

Which Lube For You?
Lots of great responses guys, thanks, I'll give them a good cleaning this weekend. Hopefully I don't end up with spare parts haha... I just left bass pro and I picked up the ardent clean and lube kit that was 26 bucks, had a gift card so it was a no brainier. Came in a nice box too with instructions on cleaning and lubricating procedures, I have my work cut of for me now!

Which Lube For You?
When maintaining your reels whether it be casting or spinning do you find there's one brand of oil lubricant/ grease that improves wear, and performance over another? Whether it be for drag, bearings etc? Looking to do some maintenance soon and wondered how much of a difference one brand/ type compares to the next.

Spinning Jerkbait Set-Up...what Rod, What Line?
Here in Ontario almost every angler fishes with a spinning rod for jerkbaits. I use a 6'6 st Croix premier medium fast. 20 lb braid to a 15 lb fluoro leader. The key for me is making sure my drag is set properly, using braid the lack of stretch makes it paramount to avoid losing fish. When I'm working the bait I typically use short quick snaps to the 8 oclock position, occasionally I'll switch it up my cadence and add a 10 oclock pop to the rod.

Missle D-Bombs Or Others Like It?
I like to use the dbombs texas rigged on a straight shank hook. Great bait for punching mats

Z6 Boat Cover
I use the genuine nitro cover with the ratcheting pockets, I was also concerned with the possibility of chafing, but I have yet to see any damage occur from it.

I Don't Think A Plug Knocker Would Work If This Thing Got Snagged...
Looks like something someone who pulls the wings off flies would use

Weed Guard
Like Cadman said the problem with casting them in is painting them after. Like most people I use a fluid bed to paint my jigs with the Teflon pins to prevent paint getting into the hole. When I dip the head into the fluid bed I always get pain on the Teflon pin, so I would imagine you would get the same result with your weed guard.

Losing Odd Fish On Ewg Jig
Well it looks like I have some solutions, and I think you nailed it smallmouth, I've noticed when I do set on a slight angel due to my position I get a better hook up. However I don't always set the hook the same way. Changing to a round bend isn't a problem as the mold accepts both, problem is I can't find a round bend hook with the same diameter and strength of this one. Another option might be opening the hook up a little like Chris suggested.

Losing Odd Fish On Ewg Jig
I've been pouring my own jigs for sometime now using a nice stout 4/0 ewg hook. The hook is tough as nails, and very sharp. Problem is sometimes when setting the hook I'll feel the fish-they'll be on for a second then they'll get off... I'm using a heavy action glx with 50 lb braid. A friend said sometimes they get off, I just wondered if i could do something to improve my ratio.
