  1. would a retail store sell this u-40 sealer? or a specialized hardware store? Purchasing online and shipping to Canada can be a headache. I have some rods that need some TLC. Thanks
  2. I was a little disturbed by the same thing, spend 120 bucks on a mount and you still have to go out to the hardware store and spend 5 bucks on stainless steel carriage bolts and nylon lock nuts. I ended up using 4 1/4x 4" stainless steel carriage bolts and 4 nylon locking nuts with fender washers. I put a 3/4" piece of plywood about 4 x 4 under the fiberglass area I was mounting through and I had a piece of neoprene from a back draft damper at work. I traced out the bottom of the mount and cut the circle out. used about 3 pieces so I had a nice 1/4 neoprene washer to help seal it,and absorb some shock from the bouncing. As Rhino suggested to me a few months ago when I inquired about the installation, I also sealed the mount with some clear silicone.
  3. if theres water in it or under it, flip it.

  10. If im not mistaken smitwick came out with a new rogue that has a tungesten ball in it for casting improvements
  11. through the mount and transom of the boat
  12. I found the torque specs for my mounting bolts but unsure of which applies to my motor theres 2 specs, 50 lbs to standard mount to transom and 90 lbs to setback and metal lift plate. I think my boat 2007 nitro z6 115 opti has the metal lift plate, with the hydraulic trim. the motor mounts to a bracket that mounts to the transom, has 2 brackets with holes in it to set the pitch of the motor. Am I correct in assuming I have the setback and metal lift plate mount?
  13. I came across a place that sells 6x6 pieces of carbon fiber with an adhesive on one side. I may get that. I think itll look nice
  14. Just as the title says, what have you done to block the existing hole from an older unit. I upgraded my 5 to an 8, the 5 is going to the trolling motor and ram mointing the 8. Need to come up with something for the hole now
  15. Nice looking rig, Be proud of that hard work and blisters from all the sanding! Go out and catch some fish!
  16. I thought the only rod in the gloomis lineup to have recoil guides were the glx though?
  17. As far as mossyback they have both a glx and regular model if I'm correct? The glx mossy back has the recoil guides and the regular ones dont right?
  18. thanks John, i didnt know that. thatll come in handy
  19. Your rod looks like a Heavy action, this one is a MH 15-20 lb its the glx 953c
  20. This new 7'11 is a mh with rating 1/4- 1oz what's the old one rated at?
  21. With the tw sale and a $40.00 credit Im thinking this is the only time I can afford a glx, I wouldnt think of spending $465 usually but now its kinda tempting. I would primarily use it for jigs, t rigs fishing pads, and other veg. I havent needed to step up more than 1 oz, and ive been using a 7'5 mossyback H for it. What would you buy? the 7"11? or the 7'5 3/8-1 1/4 h? decisions decisions...
  22. theyll take any rod / reel at the bps near me. As long as its not falling apart
