  1. I was thinking of using a small bead on top of bullet weight between the peg to stop pegs from slipping into the weight. Can be a real big pain in the behind when flipping heavy pads.
  2. Hope it gets better, Lots of cranberry juice, and water to keep flushing that bad boy and preventing further stones. I think anyways.
  3. Boat winterized for the year so I'll be turning to some river fishing. Theres a river right beside me thats open until dec 31 for browns, salmon, rainbow. I know an old friend use to do some fishing there and has caught some nice steel out of this section of river. Its a lake ontario tributary. I have a float reel and rod all setup that id like to play with but I'm not too sure on shot placement and tippet lengths. I usually fish with the fly rod but I know theyre much more willing to take roe in this area. If the float reel becomes too frustrating for me being a first timer I'll have a spinning setup as back up on me. Any tips are appreciated. Thanks!
  4. Heres a joke about a man fishing for his dinner.... Finally, he thought when his float went down and set the hook - something to bring home for the wife to cook! Reeling this big fish into the boat he thought what the hell is this? Saying aloud, Looks like a d**n big goldfish.. I guess it will have to do though.. Then to his surprise the goldfish spoke "WAIT SIR, Let me go and I'll make it worth your while" - What in Gods name?! A talking goldfish? The goldfish responds " Yes sir,I'm a genie, and if you let me go, I'll grant you one wish". The man thought long and hard and came up with his wish... Here's my wish.. "Everytime I tick I want to tick 20 year old scotch!" Poof the goldfish granted the man his wish, and returned to the lake. On the drive back home the man called up his wife and said " Honey have I got something to tell you!.. Get a couple glasses ready, I'll be home soon". She was confused but abliged. Well the man got home and sure enough, he grabbed the glasses unzipped his fly and began to fill. Raising the glass to his mouth he kicked it back... "Aaaa 20 year old scotch" Just as he asked. The following day the man went out fishing again, and after a long day of fishing he called his wife on the way home and had her get the glasses ready. Sure enough filling both and taking a drink, wonderful 20 year old scotch. Well the next day started the same, fishing and calling the wife up on the way back he says " Honey, I'm on my way home again. Get a glass ready for me." The mans wife responds "Just one? Is there something wrong, How about me?" The man responds, "Honey, tonight you drink from the bottle!".

  11. I own the curado e5, e7, chronarch dsv before the new updated ones, a core, also own 3 of the revo sx reels not the gen 3s. So I have no problem with the magentic drag The only reel I don't have experience at all with is the lews. I just dont know about the new shimanos or revos. Chronarch is also 50 bucks more than the revos. The old revo sxs I have are a little big in the hand especially once Ive been using my core for a while...
  12. I had the same type of scam about 3 months ago over a aluminum boat, also a soldier stationed in nyc waiting to deploy lol
  13. Price range 140-200 Looking for quality and value, putting it on a Jig and worm type rod. Looking for high speed retrieve heres what im currently looking at Shimano Curado Shimano Chronarch Revo Sx Older revo stx ( on sale 159) Lews tournament I have no experience with the lews or the new shimano reels. I am a fan of the older shimano reels and the revos. They could be a little smaller for palming ( revos) but with the new gen I think that might have been addressed. Can I get some votes

  16. I agree with Darren. I don't buy red hooks anymore, and to be honest if I have some reds in my tackle tray theyre only being used if I run out of the others.
  17. Green pumpkins, Browns, are clear water staples. Having said that I fish fairly clear waters also and my go to colour has always been black! As for brands, I make my own. But a couple of our forum sponsors both make and sell jigs some great looking jigs that will fit the bill.
