  1. Thats true too, and thats a big reason I stick to with what I'm comfortable with
  2. That's exactly the problem, I do feel its necessary to spend the time learning a lure to point of "mastery" if you want to call it that, but in the same breath you need to be versatile. As you said, this says it all - "how we like to" and "how we need to" are often different.
  3. How many of you like fishing jigs or other soft plastics too much(?) that sometimes it takes almost forever to find new productive water. I'm begining to think its time to do things a little different to become a little more efficient at finding productive water. Specifically when fishing deeper weedlines. (6' - 20') If its water ive fished and found fish before then I feel confident I can go about methodically picking away- pitching jigs / senkos , however when its large sections of water where I don't know if there are any fish present it can take hours to find out there's nothing. Where as throwing a deep diving crank bait may help me figure that out sooner. Sometimes its hard to put down and put aside your favorite baits and techniques but it may be whats necessary to become a better fisherman. What do you think?
  4. 1/2 oz arky goes a long way when fishing weeds. 9/10 I don't need to reach for a heavier trig
  5. I fish loon inhabited waters all the time, Never had any issues with them. They just do their own thing and I do mine. Beautiful birds
  6. Deep water is a safety zone for them, That's why they position themselves near deep water when they can. Whether its due to predators, weather conditions, water temperature or anything else that can threaten them. In this case, you!
  7. Thanks gents, I'll be doing some shopping around to handle some of my options.
  8. I have a few different survival blades, but I'm looking for a folding blade I can carry while at work ( hvac tech) and everyday carrying... Something that a person could depend on for various task. I don't wanna spend a fortune on one but I dont mind spending a few bucks. If you have any suggestions or considerations let me know, I have a sog seal pup elite and an ontario survival blade that I love for camping and backwood camping
  9. Sounds like some bluegills, 9 times out of 10 if a bass sucks in a senko you can set the hook using a wet noodle
  10. second picture not showing up for me,and you have peaked my interest
  11. Keitech swing impact, zoom black trick worm
  12. Life can be stressful... Juggling work, family life, bills, just about everything else. When I get into the truck and load up the boat at 4:30 am it all fades away, I don't give anything else a second thought.
  13. I had this same problem on a 115 merc opti, brought it in to tracker service and it was the coil that had burned out. Apparently this caused only 2 of the 3 cyclinders to fire.
  14. I need to venture out that way, Still have yet to get into Erie! Wouldnt know where to begin though lol
  15. I have a nitro z6 and my spare tire is in the same location as yours tracker, however on most ramps it would drag. So I decided to turn it horizontally under the bow
  16. Nice looking fish J, Have you fished any water on the Ontario side?
  17. I usually wait 24 hours for curing but still sometimes have the guards come out, Also found that I would see the white after it cured around the base of the weed guard which made things ugly and messy. Not sure if I was using the wrong stuff but it was called Loctite Gel. Heres the stuff I use- Lepage speed set epoxy. http://www.homedepot.ca/product/lepage-speed-settm-professional-epoxy/826134 Best thing in my opinion about this stuff is are the containers and lids, not like the syringe style epoxy container that plunges out in "equal" parts.
  18. Everyone has had great success with the Loctite gel but me, I stick to the epoxy. The epoxy I bought comes in 2 containers with a lid. I simply squeeze out equal parts and mix, very little waste. Home depot sells it as a contractor pack. Around $20.00 Ive glued in hundreds of weed guards so far and its not close to empty.
  19. We've had the same type of weather here. Fish are in a funk right now
  20. Ec1 this is exactly what's happening to me, it's a major pain in the... And like you said at 40 bucks a spool I'm not quite ready to strip it off and put on the braid.
  21. Thanks I may have to try that, I conditioned the line 2 weeks before and again a few days before
  22. I recently switched over to fluoro for my jig fishing, 22lb shooter. I sprayed the hell out of it with KVD and stretched out a cast length of line but I still have issues when it comes to keeping it from coiling, any tips for managing this stuff better? Only a couple days of use and I'm ready to switch back to braid.
  23. may have to try that, thanks
  24. I have a 2008 nitro z6 and love the boat, at the time they were coming with a 90 on it so I upgraded to 115 and upgraded the trolling motor to a 24v unit. with 2 people in the boat loaded with gear I can do 50 mph on gps
