  1. Never have had an issue with a Shimano DC reel and have been using them since they first came out in both the round and low profile. List of current inventory round (1) Calcutta 100 DC , (3) Calcutta 200 DC first generation , (1) Conquest 100 DC , (3) Conquest 50DC , (1) 20 Conquest 100 DC. Low Profile (1) Calais DC 7 first generation , (2) 16 Antares DC, (2) 21 Antares DC. Looking forward to adding the 26 Conquest DC by the end of the month.
  2. Yes they can be fished in salt water.
  3. For those interested the reel is a 24 Metanium DC 70HG along with an Avail 95 MM Sti 2 / 2.5 handle , RCS OG cork knobs , Kakedzuka level wind pipe with dual bearings and spooled with 20lb Super FC Sniper line. The rod is the Evergreen Super Combat Stick SCSC-73HG 7'3" long , Power - Heavy , Action- Med Slow and 3/8 oz to 2oz lure rated.
  4. Maico1 started following bladed jig Setup
  5. Have not fished the 135 however been using the Fry and Triple Fry since they came out and would highly recommend them . The fry is great to work in tighter spaces like weed lanes , around wood and brush piles. Also have found instead of a steady retrieve hop it once , twice , and multiple times all the way back to the boat pausing it in between hops. Like the Triple more for open water and wider weed lanes since the joint adds a little more enticing action but will hop too just with little less force. Also would recommend putting a number 4 Megabass trailer on the Triple and a 6 on the Fry. The trailer on the Triple has more of an effect since it extends the movement of the rear joint . Hope this gives you a little more insight on your choice .

  9. Congrats, wish you the best with it.
  10. Good to see you are sticking some "reel" sweet fish on such a nice day.
  11. Once you get this squared away you can replace the knob with the Yumeya one on the left. You can find them at HedgeHog Studios , unfortunately they are out of stock now but do get replenished fairly quick.
  12. To get tension off the spool take the 3 screws out of the DC Module and remove it. To do that you need to unlock the side cover by sliding the lock in the opposite direction it is now which is locking the side cover on. The DC Module is located on the opposite side of the reel the tension knob , brake star and handle are on. That said I still suggest you take the handle and the drag star off so the 4 prongs on the tool will be able to seat properly to turn it.
  13. You should take off the handle and the drag star also to get a more direct connection with the tool .
  14. Yumeya made a MGL Deep Spool 150 for the 16 Met that has been discontinued. Let the hunt begin , did see a few used on e-bay.
  15. For TopWater Armilo 15 lb. gets the nod and that is not to say your conditions may require a heavier line. Really impressed with how this line lays down on the spool as well as coming off the spool. Defier 17lb. gets the nod for CrankBait and again it has the same characteristics as Armilo coming off and laying down on the spool. Line weight really boils down to what we have confidence in using while fishing the conditions we fish.
