i tightend the tension knob on my antares dc and now it is stuck it wiilnot budge i cant loosen it at all tried the cheap plastic tool and the tried my pliers and all i did was scratch the beautiful reel. Does anyone know what i should do im p***ed off

I never touch my tension knobs, Specially Antared DC 21s, Anyways just cool it by putting it in freezer and let's hope the different materials react not same and loosen up. If it didnt work, do same thing by putting in sun light. do only 20 min freezing ad sun light because if you keep it longer the other part will expand or shrink eventually. You know I am talking about the molecules right?

And also dont forget some kind of lubricant or reel butter around it to reduce the tension.

You should take off the handle and the drag star also to get a more direct connection with the

tool . 

If it will open, pop open the palm side cover to take tension add the spool and cap. If the cap is cranked down the side plate might be hard to open.

i dont understand

To get tension off the spool take the 3 screws out of the DC Module and remove it. To do that you need to unlock the side cover by sliding the lock in the opposite direction it is now which is locking the side cover on. The DC Module is located on the opposite side of the reel the tension knob , brake star and handle are on. That said I still suggest you take the handle and the drag star off so the 4 prongs on the tool will be able to seat properly to turn it.

By tension knob, you mean the knob that is on the same side has the handle.  This knob is difficults to put back on because it is so close to the handle.  If you took it off completely for a lube, it might have been put on croocked.  This is easy to do.  The plastic tool is the answer.  Make sure you do it slowly and use your fingers around the knob to keep it straight.  Good luck.

Once you get this squared away you can replace the knob with the Yumeya one on the left. You can find them at HedgeHog Studios , unfortunately they are out of stock now but do get replenished fairly quick.

thank you all for the help i just cast a 3/8 oz jig head 130 feet easy disnt measure maybe a bit longer. happy with it no should cast real good 1/2 up good and long now was about to loose my sobriety over this thank god for bassresource.com for the support
