Went out for some smallmouth today and we got what we wanted! The first fish I hooked up with was without a doubt my biggest smallie... I thought I was on the bottom until I felt her head shake, then

Shane and I got out today, fished a new sport for the first time and put together an alright day. Lots of pickerel, some pretty small bass but I did manage my biggest fish of the year SO FAR at 6lbs o

I went fishing tonight after work at the Exeter River. I was fishing for trout using an inline spinner and caught this. Can someone let me know what it is?

That is a river chub. I have caught many of them when using smaller bass lures in large streams or rivers. A few years ago I got nearly a 2 pounder where the Contoocook river meets the Merrimack.

Nice fish NHBasssin!!

Thanks for the info Bob.   I'll be up there quite a bit in the next couple weeks due to my annual 2 week fishing vacation.   I've got an 18 ft Nitro, so if anyone wants to meet up, or take the backseat some day, post or PM me. I live in the Peterborough area and will be fishing Spofford, Franklin Pierce, Newfound, Sunapee and Winni.

Fishing this week on Winni and Waukewaun if anybody wants to meet up. On Waukewaun tomorrow and out of lees mills on Thursday and Friday.

Fishing a tourney in Lee Mills area tomorrow...

thanks nejitterbugger! its been a good spring so far. those fish are actually caught from three different places.

most of them were all in shallow as in 1-3 ft.

Really?? I haven't really checked the water temp with a gauge or depth finder or anything is the temp at about 57-63 degrees they must be building the beds right about now which is my favorite time of year cause the big hogs with hit anything that gets into their nest.... even my lure haha

Not that catching all of those beasts at the same place wouldn't be rewarding, but catching them in three different places is even more impressive!

(Assuming those were'nt caught in Milford right, I know Osgood Pond held some really good fish but other than that pretty much garbage...)

Keep on them....

nope none of them are from milford. i fished osgood last year before they drained it.other than that milford doesnt have much to offer for bass fishing.

mikeOGNR im not sure exactly what the temp is but the water is warming fast and the big bass are on beds for sure!

Up nice and early!!!

~I'll post results tonight...

good luck!

Yea there defiantelly isnt much for bass fishing around Milford. I mostly hit Rocky Pond and Potanipo in Hollis and Brookline because there close and pretty good fishing. Also biggest bass in NH came from Potanipo and I guarntee there is another hog in there too. I know you probably wont wanna reveal any of your secret spots haha I wouldnt either, but if you dont mind me asking where you fish mostly thats close to Milford that has some good bass fishing??

got out today in the rain. I was cold and wet but i did still manage about 8 bass in a few hours. biggest one ended up being 5.5 lbs. the pictures dont do the fish any justice. sucks when your by yourself and you need to take a picture. anyways her she is full of eggs.

Super fun day on Winni, our captain had a brand new skeeter with 10ft power poles... We hit the graveyard in the morning and quickly filled our limit.... All smallies 2# range like a 2lbs 5oz, 2lbs 1 oz, and some high 1 pounders... After that we wanted to get a kicker largemouth, didn't see any largies spawning and didn't have any luck. Our Final weight for our 4 fish was 7.3 pounds... There was 60 teams I think and I don't know what place we got yet, I believe the winner got a 12.4pound bag.....

My partner hooked into a 5# laker but got off at the boat, and I got a big pickerel which cut up my hand...

Hope to fish more tourneys and that it will be held again next year....

Here are some pics...

We were nailing them on their beds, throwing tubes...

Nice job. I saw all the boats blow past me in groups. I didn't go out that far but still caught a few good ones.Started catching a bunch of pickrells so I packed up. I was throwing senkos. Hooked a 4.2 lb smallie off of a boat dock around 8.
