Two of my rods are always rigged for senkos or stick worms wacky rigged or texas rigged. 

They indeed are a great bait they just bore me hoping to try them again this year. Along with JIGS!!!!

I'll usually have a rod rigged with a senko or some other really subtle plastic bait, especially when I'm fishing topwater.  Last summer one of my best days was had fishing near grass edges with a spook.  If I didn't hook up with them the first time they blew up on it I'd toss the senko out there and get them nearly every time.  That was a good day, nothing huge but the action was non-stop.  Clear water smallmouth COME ON!

Senkos are deadly. I catch fish on them year round, even ice fishing with a jigging rod.

Checked the river that runs through Burlington for the 3rd time this week and am happy to say there's some fishable water! Just spent an hour or so there and had to come home real quick to grab a couple more lures and another rod... This is a good day.

Hey Nev have you tried fishing at mines falls recently do you think this week would be good to fish it? Got my roof racks in the mail and I am gonna install them tomorrow looking to fish it maybe Tuesday or Thurday when I have off any tips as well as to where I might try?

Just past the boat launch at mines falls to the left is a big fallen tree. There is where the current is from the flow of the river runoff. I have caught all mine from the point where the tree is. Good luck!

Are you talking about the island that is to the left the tree that just out off that island? I caught a good amount there last year thanks for the info. Is it fairly deep off of the island about 20 yards or so? Seems to me in like June or July the big submerged green weeds always seem to grow off of there and there's fish. Have you ever had any luck going up past the island further down that way?

Any luck fishing the Wipooski ? From Wipooski one hydro to Lake Champlain is closed until June 1st.

I was fishing above the hydro dam, no luck but it was great to cast. Water is ripping right now like it is in most places. I'll be there everyday till a pond or the lake open up. What are things looking like down your way Mainbass?

Several ponds have opened up down my way. Put a rod and a few baits in my car till I can get my boat into the bigger lakes.

Another place for you to try is the bridge at the sand bar. There is open water there. Some good fish get caught right there too.

 

St. Albans bridge may be open as well.

I think he means the tree trunks sticking up ,  they are right off the shore,  go left from the ramp and follow it compelty around the left side and around the corner,  that complete side fish all of it.  I have good luck with black or blue here, but  I also use a lot of white.

 When you find open water let me know ! I am beyond ready to go ! It looks like Vermont still has a couple weeks or so. Looks like Maine will be the first place I go.

These are just quarry ponds but I would imagine 2 weeks on the bigger lakes in southern Maine my bet is that Arrowhead and cobb stream will be out this week if not the main bodies open now. Hopefully these 60 degree days a few with rain and 10+ winds all week wreak havoc on the ice.

So the genius's at Thule sent me the wrong size racks for my car so I have to make a return. d**n F****ERS. Anyways won't be fishing probably till next week.

True that, Shane! Don't need a roof rack to cast from shore either; even if your not fishing the greatest water I bet you won't be thinking about roof racks while you're reeling in a swim jig.

Nearly all ponds and lakes in the southern part of the state have at least a few feet of open water around the edges. Some people around the Nashua area have already been catching fish because the water is open on sunny/smaller ponds.
