Can't Decide On A Rod

Featured Replies

I am looking for 7 foot MH rod primarily for spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, and light jig duty when needed. My preference is a micro-guide rod and am looking to stay under $200. The reel that will mounted on this rod is Lews Tournament Pro.

Here is what I have narrowed my choices down to:

1. Duckett Micro Magic

2. Dobyns Savy

3. Kistler Micro Magnesium

4. Cashion Casting Rod

I am somewhat familiar with the first three choices but am curious about feedback on the Cashion since I have never seen nor handled one. Please share good or bad experiences with any of these choices along with your suggestions. Thanks.

Kistler or Cashion. Honestly.. Go for an American rod. Loomis GL2 is under 200.. I love mine. Great rod, American made blank. Love it.

cashion rods are awesome. i have a 7'3" casting rod and its stupid sensitive, light, and awesome! if i were you, id go with the cashion.

Cashion is very good.

Cashions are American made rods. I do like this about them.

Indeed.

Have you considered one of our many great sponsors, Pinnacle. They make a micro guide rod in your budget that I have heard performs very well.

Cashion, got a 7'MH for jigs that i absolutely love. Matt is a great guy

Phenix Recon 714 or 715?

Do you have to have a 7' micro? The reason I ask is a friend of mine who fishes the Susquehanna river like I do found my Fenwick Elite Tech smallmouth to his liking and got the 6'9" MH-F casting rod pretty much for slinging 3/8oz and 1/2oz blades and he loves it, he said the tip is perfect and the backbone is incredible which I can attest to as I have a 6'10" MH-MF casting rod which I think would work also. The Falcon lowrider is another good one.
