2013 Abu Garcia Revos (Stirring The Pot...)
The new Gen 3 Revo's are expected to ship September 1, 2012. This is listed in the description for each reel. By the the time THUT ships, I bet all retailers will have them.

Cashion Rods Vs. Other Higher End Rods
A couple of weeks ago I was on the fence about a Cashion rod too. Finally bought a 6'9" MH primarily to be used for spinnerbaits and jigs up to 3/8 ounce. This rod feels more sensitive and balanced to me than a Kistler mag, Duckett, and Dobyns champion. One thing I noticed is that the carbon fiber handle allows for a shorter handle than other rods meaning that you can use an overall shorter rods but still have equivalent length from the grip forward, which another plus to me. I will choose a cashion over any of these listed and will buy a few more this summer. Very impressed with this stick.

Yumbrella Tripod
Where did you purchase this? How long are the wires?

White Braid
I have recently been using sufix 832 ghost. This line is as visible to me on the water's surface as hi-vis yellow. The best thing about the white line is the fact that it does not fade or bleed dye all over your equipment. If you feel the need to color the first few feet, you can always pick a color that best matches the conditions you are facing. I really this stuff.

Can't Decide On A Rod
Cashions are American made rods. I do like this about them.

Can't Decide On A Rod
I am looking for 7 foot MH rod primarily for spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, and light jig duty when needed. My preference is a micro-guide rod and am looking to stay under $200. The reel that will mounted on this rod is Lews Tournament Pro. Here is what I have narrowed my choices down to: 1. Duckett Micro Magic 2. Dobyns Savy 3. Kistler Micro Magnesium 4. Cashion Casting Rod I am somewhat familiar with the first three choices but am curious about feedback on the Cashion since I have never seen nor handled one. Please share good or bad experiences with any of these choices along with your suggestions. Thanks.

Sebile D&s Cranks
Would you fish this with a crankbait rod or perhaps a spinnerbait rod since there is a single hook on a moving bait?

Mounting An Electric Motor With Isolator Bolts
Motor Guide sells an isolator kit designed specifically for their motor mounts. These should match your original isolators better than the brand you purchased. Any Motor Guide marine dealer should carry this kit and I have seen them in my local Academy Sports. Check with these places and see what you can find.

Grande Bass Rods
I was looking at lures on the Grande Bass website and found these two rod series added to their lineup. They might not be a brand new but I have never seen them before. If anybody has any experience or knowledge of these, I sure would like to hear it. The links to these rods are posted below: http://www.grandebass.com/gb93t/store/comersus_listCategoriesAndProducts.asp?idCategory=81 http://www.grandebass.com/gb93t/store/comersus_listCategoriesAndProducts.asp?idCategory=82

bass pro/sales tax
Agree with Lund about the use tax, which applies on a state by state basis. In Louisiana, we have the same voluntary reporting. As to how much it is reported, I will not comment. One thing to remember is that it applies to state tax only so parish, county, or local taxes should not be charged or collected. At least the tax burden in this situation is lessened somewhat. On a different note, what ticks me off is the 10% federal excise tax embedded in the cost of all the fishing equipment we purchase. This is one of those quiet little taxes imposed that most people don't know about. I just want to make as many people aware of this as possible. A link is provided if anybody wants to the federal directive in more detail. http://www.irs.gov/businesses/small/article/0,,id=203117,00.html

Revo Recall
Just called Pure Fishing for clarification and was told this rumor is not true. There is no recall on these reels. Sorry for the previous false information.

Revo Recall
A posting on another form stated that Abu Garcia has a recall on the 2009 Revo SX. This is due to excessive backlash problem so many have experienced. It was stated that the reel was sent to Pure Fishing and replaced with a new 2010 model. Just curious if anybody else has heard of or participated in this recall. Thanks in advance for everyone's input.

How late in the season do you fish??
Late fall and winter months do not present a problem. On the other hand, the July and August heat in Louisiana have been keeping me inside more than usual this year.

WobbleHead Lures......"Old School" Big Bass Magnet
You must be from around Monroe. Wobbleheads were manufactured here for a very long time and practically every local swears by them. If you were able to watch the promo video at Bass Pro, it was filmed on Darbonne. These are fantastic lures in the summertime. Remember to keep your rod tip high and reel as slow as possible just keeping them on the surface. If you can find them, sluggo ss or an 8" V & M Pork Pin worm swims well behind them as well. Thanks for the reminder, I'll be tying some own for later today.

Best Lure Retriever
You don't need a lure retriever. Check out Glenn's video. He shows how to get your lures back without one.

My new Kistler Z-Bone
Blanks by Gary Loomis. Reel seats and guides by Fuji. What exactly is Kistler providing that any custom rod wrapper can't? I see no added value to his new MARKETING campaign.

Finish on Skeet Reese Revo
I am impressed with the patriarch's as well, just don't how they compare performance-wise the revos. Do you have any experience with both?

Finish on Skeet Reese Revo
It's not like they don't how. http://www.japantackle.com/ABU/Abu_Revo_Elite_Aurora.htm

Finish on Skeet Reese Revo
Curious to know how what type of coating is applied to the Skeet Reese Revo. My guess is that the black and yellow is some type of powder coating but it could also be enamel paint. If somebody knows for sure I do appreciate the response.

Thinking Outside The Box-Painting Cork Handles Black?
I have never tried this on cork, but you might consider using leather dye such as the stuff sold by fiebings. This dyes covers leather well, soaks into the material, and does not rub off onto hands. Since cork is a natural porous material, as is leather, it just might work. Like I said, I have never tried this on cork so I recommend trying it on a piece of scrap before applying to an expensive rod. After applying the stain, you might want to apply some clearcoat sealer as well. Interesting thought and I am curious as to how it will turn out as well.

Carrot Stix
How much of the weight difference between the Carrot and Kistler, or any other rod for that matter, is attributable to handle or lack therof for the Carrot Stix? Just curious to know the comparable weights of the raw blanks for each.

reaction strike evolution bluegill
I bought a reaction strike swimbait, the 4 inch suspending version. Similar but not exactly the same as the one you are talking about. Used it one time and the tail section flew off on the fifth cast. To reaction strike's credit, they promptly sent me a replacement without any hassle. It has good action as long as the tail stays on.

DeLong Snake - any experiences?
Never heard of this. What is it?
