Bps Bionic Blade Vs. Shimano Clarus

Featured Replies

Looking to replace my UL rod that I snapped and see the BB is on sale at BPS and the Clarus is on sale at Cabelas.

Clarus is about 20 bucks cheaper than the BB.

For those who have experience with these, which is the better rod?

I pulled the trigger on the Clarus. At $39 I figured it was too good to pass up. I did a quick forum search and couldn't find a bad thing said about it.

Clarus is amazing

i like my shimano but on mine the reel seat comes loose so i just tighten every 10 cast or so no biggee but i love the feel of it

Give the threads a couple wraps with teflon tape before you tighten it down. It'll keep it from loosening but won't leave any sticky crap if/when you decide to remove it.

I have both and IMO they are both good rods. I use them for cranks and spinnerbaits and I would say they are pretty much equal.

Thanks because i have the same issue with mine.

I've had to do it on every St. Croix rod I've owned.

I have a Clarus and love it. At 40 bucks that was a great deal or I got ripped off, I paid a 100. Cannot complain about a single thing, comes with a great warranty too.
