I tried a Rick Clunn model shallow crank......I really doubt Rick had anything to do with the bait because it was completely lame. 

Maybe some their other models are better, but based on that bait, I don't think I'm going to drop any more money to find out. 

There are a lot of options out there.   

X2 on Stringjam's post.  I got a 103 way back when Clunn was advertising them and was disappointed in both the durability and the action.  Not saying the current product isn't the greatest thing since sliced bread, but that was my experience a few years ago and I have a long memory.

I also agree it has a durability issue. Top bait in this picture is after one tournament. The paint job is trashed and I had to fill it with epoxy to protect the bare wood that shows. The second lure is John Mills crankbait that I asked him to make for me and is still kicking out toads and in great shape. The third one is a Tim Hughes custom baits HT crankbait that the lip fell out on the second fish I caught had to epoxy a new lip.

I agree with Chris, on the John Mills baits. I fished John's crankbaits for 1 1/2 seasons, and they still look new. They caught ALOT of fish too. VERY durable, and productive baits..........Thanks John.

John builds some really great stuff (one of the best flatsided cranks I own) - - his little cranks are also a trip (and flat-out catch bass on tough days!).
