Coral Springs Bass!

Featured Replies

Went fishing the other day in Springs, fished a canal and a pond that are on Coral Ridge drive. Was a new area for me but produced some really nice fish! All bass were over 2lbs and the Big ol' one was about a high 6! All of the were caught on a Purple Jd's frog. Also found this 5ft gator roaming around the canal, was really big for a residential area.

Thanks Guys! Went back out to the same spot and caught a 5 more decent size! also ran across a couple more gators in this residential area and they are not shy. One chased my frog out of the water and onto the bank, but as soon as he caught sight of me he hauled ass back into the water.

My friends bro had a few run ins there with the gators in talking to him

Hi guys. Found this post while doing some research. Looks like a great site.

Had a question regarding boat fishing in this area. I have family in Coral Springs and I might be actually driving down from Toronto, Canada with my inflatable boat and trolling motor in the trunk.

I see the pics of the gators and it got me wondering, is it even safe to be putting around in something like this boat shown below? The canals themselves seem pretty narrow and I noticed there are a couple places to launch but I'd hate to come face to face with a gator and being that low to the water.

What do you think?

Thx.

First off good job Backyard bandit. Nice fish, Coral Springs has a good fishery, unfortunately for me the distance is too much. What amuses me is that your report got the attention of 2 members that have not posted on here for quite a while. LOL... Basshunter954, where have you been dude?? It's been at least 2 yrs that I have not seen you. The other member knows I am talking about him. LOL.. We fished lake coral springs together. ;)
