Pfluger Supreme Xt Clicking

Featured Replies

Hey everyone,

I have a very lightly used Pfluger Supreme XT that I love, got it about 3 months ago, had it oiled immediately. When I use her now, I always get a "clicking" when I reel in. Anyone else had this problem? Thanks for the help.

Just a thought...

First check all screws make sure they are tight.

Then follow the slow rotation of the crank paddel and bail arm/wire area,

to see if they are making contact when cranking.

It might also be the tension on the line against the line rollor,

pulling the bail and helping the bail arm or wire to make contact with the handel/paddle.... :Victory:

This happened to me when I recently tore down a used pflueger medalist i picked up. I took it apart to clean and lube it and got a little clicking on reassembly. It turned out the ring gear to worm gear tolerances were off. Luckily I was doing this at work and had access to .001" shims. I created a hole in the center of 5 of them and slipped them over the reel handle attachment shaft so they were between the top of the ring gear and the side cover. When i attached the sidecover, the shims pushed the ring gear down closer to the worm and this corrected my problem.
