Snakeheads For Breast Cancer

Featured Replies

  • Super User

I posted this in the Tournament section, but not too many responses, so try it here. A friend on mines mother is a breast cancer survivor, and she wants to do something in the month of October to raise some money for a local breast cancer charity. I suggested a fishing tournament. So we are going to organize a tournament on a Saturday, as long as we can get enough people that would be interested in fishing it. We are going to have trophys, prizes, raffle, and a donation for a good cause.

im in!!!!!!! my aunt had breast cancer before she past and i support any event for breast cancer... my boat deck and stuff will be done by then count me in

I will join in if at all possible. I'll know when you get the date set (the sooner the better). If your wanting to do snakeheads, I would talk with Captain Shane. He is our resident snakehead pro. He is also a great guy who I know would help if he can. Maybe you can throw in a big bass contest as well. You would not need any special permits to keep one bass of any size (over 12" I believe). Like many, cancer has touched my family as well. My cousin, at 5 years old, was not as lucky as your friends mother. I would be willing to help out any way I can. I think this is a worthy cause, keep us up to date.

I would be interested as well, but I cannot commit until the date gets closer.

i would be interested, and im sure I could get some guys from my club to make a drive over.

I'm in just throw a date out....

Just talked to my friend today. There are lots of vendors that are donating some really cool stuff to be auctioned off. Im working on getting permission to post up on here for companys to donate stuff. working on trying to figure out the date, most likely going to be Oct. 20. Also, trying to figure out a way to pre-register. Most likely going to have checks or money order mailed to either me, or her so we can get a list going. We thought about a paypal, but we have both had issues with that, and dont want a 3rd party mistake to happen. Just keeping an update for you all.

I've never caught one, I'm looking forward to it.....

Makes the challenge harder. This way there is not a massive amount of fish that come in. They have already got their fry on the loose. By the time the tourney goes down the fry will be at least 1 foot long (they grow fast). Dont worry Diggy, its not the size that counts, its the amount total/weight. They will never go away, they will always be around.

Ok, we have got our chapter for the tourney. Now that we have who we are donating the money to, we are moving forward. Just keeping up for all that are still interested, wd are gonna do $20 per person preregister, $25 day of. And $10 50/50 pot for big bass, 1 fish must be alive.

did you get a date yet or did i miss that?
