So the past 2 outings I have been throwing a California Craw colored Rage Craw T-rigged,and have been getting a good amount of bites,including one Toad today that would have easily been my new PB,if it hadn't of broke me off at the boat.

I stuck the fish next to a large partially submerged log in about 2 feet of very stained water. The fish saw the boat and charged under it,broke me off and I watched it swim away effortlessly. I was heart broken.

Soooo now to my questions. I feel very comfortable at detecting bites with a T-rigged Rage Craw. I've boated 6 fish with this bait and technique in the past 2 outings,and now I wanna give a Jig and Rage Craw a try. I understand a T-rig and Jig retrieve are somewhat similar and that detecting the bite is also similar.

I'd likely be throwing a 3/8 to 1/2 oz football head jig.

The only color Rage Craw color I own is California Craw. Mine look like a mix between black neon and smoke with red flake. They look more black,but against light they are dark smoke colored.They don't have so much of the light colored bottom.I bought them in Bulk from a seller on EBay.

Taking this color into account,what color jig skirt would this be a ideal match for?

Also when a Rage Craw is used as a jig trailer,how many segments does everyone remove,or is it dependant upon the jig size and type?

I like to use any brown variations skirts with the california craw color. I cut my rage to the size of the rage craw chunk which is right at the part it starts to get skinny. Best trailor I've used for sure.

Just read that you Like to fish Parker canyon lake. I was there 2 weeks ago And caught a bunch off the jig near those rock walls in the back of the lake. Then it got way windy to be able to stay in one spot.

I catch a lot of dinks near those bluff walls on a Dropshot. In fact I catch a lot of dinks in that lake period. I stuck the big fish that broke me off over to the right side of the island right off the huge Log in the shallow water.So where do you reside?

I go to the u and i live near the u of a. My buddy caught a good size one around 4.5 lbs but as we got the scale out, his grip on fish was weak. Bum we couldn't weight it. Pretty lake. frog bite around the weeds was good, lots of blow up but tons of misses.
