Dang It Finally Happend And Long Winded Question..

Featured Replies

man it finally happened, i parked on a hill, taking the rod out of the car and the door went shut, even with rod jacket my mojo rod snapped about 5 inches down from the tip. so lucky me i have a warrenty from DIcks, my problem or question begins... So when i bought the the mojo i used 2 of my earned 10 dollar gift cards from dicks and the 10 of of 50.00, so i paid around 70 for the mojo, so DIcks gives you a gift card of what you paid instead of a swap, you see my problem, Next part. it is only a buzzbait rod, I have looked at some triumphs, i like them and the full handle, so my meat and bones question is? when we are talkign lower level croixs and since it is only for buzzbaits, is there a super differance in the rods. i am no super judge, but it seems the triumph is a bit lighter. i have avids and premiers but i fish buzzbaits and dont really want to put any more cash in it. Would you fork the 100 for the mojo or just go with Triumph abd break even... Plus the is a heaveness in the mojo, idk maybe the tip, or it may be me

After reading your thread I'd say you should definitely go with the Triumph.

hey thanks, i was there getting one and a woman gave me a fathers day coupon of 25 off of 125, so i dug into the despreate time thread (lol) and picked up a verias for 90 spent 10 some hooks, then got 25 worth of frogs for free lol i love my spinning veritas, so yea, but thank you for your post

Don't limit the veritas to just top water duty. That is a very light, sensitive rod; puts a mojo to shame.

I bought my veritas solely for top water duty, but end up tying jigs and plastics on it due to the amazing sensitivity. Just purchased two more can't wait till they come in. My veritas arsenal will be as follows: 7' MH fast (top water) , 6'9" MH fast micro (worm), and a 7'11" heavy mod fast flipping stick (jig/punch).

The Mojo and Triumph lines are both built on SCII blanks. The Mojo I think uses a higher quality guide. Performance wise they should be very close. They are good rods but Avid and up are where St Croix really shines imo.

yea i love my avids, but this time a year i am broke from the gas it takes to go fishing lol in the winter i stock, lol and love my veritas so far, i use my spinning for tubes, so all in all it is a great rod for 100 and id say better than the mojo..
