Fishing Reeds

Featured Replies

What is your favorite bait for fishing reeds? Just discovered there is a huge spot of reeds in the north end of a new lake we started going to the last couple weeks and one of my buddies sent me a pic of a 7.2 and 2 5 lbs pigs he pulled out of them. He was pitching a lizard in and around the reeds. I plan on duplicating this but was curious as to what yalls favorite is for reeds?

Theyre awesome baits. One of my go to baits for flipping and pitching. Has a nice compact body so it slides through cover with ease. It has good action too. I like it better than the sweet beaver or wooley bug.

They're terrible...

I would name my next born Pit Boss if I was allowed too...

yep, pit boss. awesome baits. i like biffle bugs, power team conviction craws, pt t rig jig, theres a lot a like. just depends on how im feelin that day.

A pitboss or sweet beaver will get through the reed a lot better than a lizard. Try pitching those. Also try a hallow-belly frog.

Early or sparse reeds it's tough to beat a spinnerbait. Later in summer when reeds get thicker and tough I use a white swim jig on braid.
