Has anybody used a minn-kota talon on here?

i want a power pole but $2000 is alot, and i can get a talon for $1000.

my concerns are since it is telescopic, does water and debris get in the shaft and corrode the internals or is it a really solid unit? any feedback would be great! thanks.
