Costa Vs Maui Jim's

Featured Replies

I know this topic is beat to death but what would you do in my situation?

I get 40% off 2 pairs of Maui Jim's every year. With the discount the pair I want will be $110. I would order these straight from Maui Jim.

The Costa's I want will be with the 580p lens and would cost $110 from Ebay.

Should I go with the Maui Jim's due to knowing they will be real over the possible fake Ebay Costa's?

This will be my first pair of sunglasses over $20.

You can check the reliabilty of the seller on Ebay and they are usually pretty accurate. If he has a good rating, I'm sure they are real.

However, when I buy sunglasses, I go straight through the manufacturer because I don't trust other people. I've even had a friend try to sell me what he thought were real sunglasses but as soon as I picked them up I could tell they weren't. There are also a lot of discount websites out there that have designer sunglasses at really good prices and they claim they're real, but I don't trust them either. In the end, I probably end up spending a little more , but I get the piece of mind knowing I have the real product.

I agree. I'm a huge Costa fan, but I would go with the guaranteed authentic glasses.

There's actually another thread going on sunglasses right now with some good info you might want to check out as well.

I have had Maui for a long time great glasses. I currently for the last few years have had costa's, and there awesome sunglasses for fishing and being outdoors. That being said, I would lean toward the Maui's just because you are getting them directly from the source. The ebay dealer may be legit. It has already been mentioned to really check the reliability of the dealer. If he sells you fakes, call him out on it , which will effect his reliability score. Again, if your getting your hands on a pair of Maui's that are for sport/ outdoors, and not a casual pair, go with Maui.
