Aluminum Boats

Featured Replies

Can anyone recommend a good hull cleaner for aluminum bass boats? I have Tracker 175 TXW that needs a bath. Thanks.

sharkhide is probably the best, but it's like 55.00 for a bottle. I use Gord's. it's a cleaner and polish. goes on like wax and I do my tin once a year. just stay away from starbrite and some others that spray on and off, unless you want white alumunum.

Following this topic as I have had the same problems over the years. Most every product I tried either did not work or turned the Alum. white. Polishing will not bring the finish back to original after it turns white.

I just keep the waterline there. Shows it is a fishing boat, not a show boat!

took this pic a few weeks ago. my second year. the gords works well. I got it off of e-bay. applied it last year and again this spring and still have more than a half bottle.

nice rig 3dees. is that a 90 on that tin. I bet that thing hauls.

I use formula 409. It cuts right through the crud. My boat is painted not bare aluminum though.

Thanks ryneb. it's a 115 Opti. right now it will do 51 mph gps. thinking about a jackplate but then I'll also need a larger prop, and a wp guage. don't know if it's worth it for a few mph more. I lost my need for speed.

i used mothers powerball and polish to revive a toolbox that came on my truck worked great. for a hull i would go to harbor freight and get a large orbital buffer and use mothers on it.

if you went cleaner, polish then wax it might be easier next time around.
