Making The Transition
i would stick to what has been working from the bank and just expand it to all the new water you have. dont be discouraged bybeing skunked. it happens to the best. save the offshore game for later. when you do decide to tackle it,dont forget a few marker buoys http://www.basspro.com/Tournament-Buoy/product/1595/ not sure if was covered in your safety course or not but the trim plays a big part in how your boat runs and handles. start with your trim low to get on plain then as you get up trim out. when you get to high with the trim it will porpoise or bounce up and down. trim down a little till it stops and you have found your sweet spot.

More Banning Of The Arig..
pros carried a-rigs to far. had guys throwing double a-rigs in flw, just crazy. i feel the main reason for a-rig bans is image. hard to air a big bass being boated with 4 hooks in her head and side but none in his mouth and the pros just yanking them out.

First Baitcaster: Bps Pro Qualifier, Lews Speed Spool, H20 Mettle, Or Pflueger Summit
warranty on pro qualifier is one year. had a older one mess up and they wouldn't do squat. the mettle are good reels for the money and academy has been flawless for replacements. last week the lure on one of my ethos rod caught on my boat cover as i pulled it of. snapped 4'' or so off. walked into academy, handed it to a employ and went and got my new one of the shelf for trade, no questions asked.

Buying My First Ball Hitch....any Tips?
may take a few guesses to get the right one. it is a really a custom fit,to the vehicle deal. i run drop 6" on my dodge 2500 4x4,my dad runs flat on his 2x4 dodge 3500 and my brother in law runs up 8" on his kayak trailer behind a mazda 3 hatch back. single axle you don't notice much. ran to high a hitch with our dual axle utility trail awhile and ate the rear tires up. never really thought about the how the ball is mounted, but a locking pin is a good idea.
