Falcon Buccos

Featured Replies

I would rather go with a Veritas, but the buccos are not a bad rod for the money.

I really liked my Bucoo when I had one. I thought head to head with the Veritas, the Bucoo was more of a pleasure to fish, but sensitivity and lightness had to go with the Veritas. Either one will be fine. However, I thought that Falcons actions were a bit on the slower side

I have a Bucoo 6'6 Medium that I use for Cranks and Smaller Spinnerbaits. I like it a lot and think it is well worth the Money.

I do agree with BASSclary that the action, at least for this Model, is a little on the slower side.

It's rated for up to 1/2 OZ but it struggles a little with 3/8 OZ Spinnerbaits. Works great for Crankbaits and 1/4 OZ Spinnerbaits though.

The BuCoo is very light and is nice to fish with but it all depends on what action and length you want, a lot of the rods are moderate or moderate fast action which is great for cranks and spinnerbaits and topwaters with trebles but not so much worms and jigs. You are pretty much limited to a 6'6" medium heavy, 6'10" medium heavy, or a 7' heavy as general purpose rods, also the specs on the rod are really close with this series, if the rod is rated to 1/2oz you can bet that the rod isn't going to be too good with anything over that weight.

i picked up a 6'6" MH/F bucoo micro a few weeks back. haven't fished it yet but i am very impressed so far. mine weighs in at exactly 3.5 ounces, making it the lightest rod in my arsenal. the beefy grip is fits my hand the best of all my rods and i really like the non-clearcoated blank and understated looks of the rod. the ONLY thing i don't like about the rod is the goofy name: "bucoo" :laugh5:
