I went to bass pro today to pick up a few lures and while i was there i picked up some 50# Power Pro braid for my Chronarch. I only got 100 yards cause it was only twelve bucks, but on the way home i was questioning myself on whether 100 yards was enough to fill the spool up. What do yall think? will 100 yards of 50 pound braid enough to fill up the spool?

With just the braid, no. Add some mono backing and you'll be good to go.

100 yards is plenty, like addict said, which is what you should do anyway, back it with a cheap mono. It helps not only to keep the braid from slipping, but also to get that "full spool" appearance that helps with casting distance and retrieval speed.

Not only would I do that, I'd have enough mono backing such that there was room left for 50 yards so I could get two spoolings out of it.

back it so you have around 2 cast lengths of braid that fills the spool. Or if there is little remainder just use it all up. You can reverse the line instead of replacing it next season. Get that 12 bones worth
