Bagley's Is Back!

Featured Replies

Just read on BASSMASTER.com that the Bagley bait company has been ressurected. I couldn't be more happy :respect-059: When they went belly up before, I went out and bought all the Bang-o-lures and Balsa B's I could find. In my opinion the Bang-o-lure was/is the BEST jerkbait ever produced and over the years my supply of them has been slowly dwindling and if the new ones match the bouyancy, action and weight (for castability) of the old I can start replacing them. The Balsa-B's also are a favorite of mine for shallow water/heavy cover cranking only surpassed, IMO, by the old Poe's RC series baits, of which I also bought a huge supply of when the started getting scarce). Now if Yakima could see fit to begin production of the RC baits again, I would do another happy dance. :respect-059:

Sorry if this all sounds to silly but I cannot even begin to count all the fish I have caught on these baits...lol

Ditto! I have been milking the one and only Bang O Lure Tail Spin I have left forever, even fishing the thing on 50lb braid instead of the normal 17lb mono I use for such lures and being way to careful in where I cast it. Can not wait to stock up on more!

I'm happy to see the Balsa B back also..But I think Rapala is involved in it. If so I just hope they haven't screwed it up like they did the wiggle wart.

Dick's Sporting Goods already has them in stock. They look identical to the baits just before Bagley closed up - same body styles, same colors/patterns. To be honest I was a little disheartened with the paint job. There were bubbles in the finish and the colors looked somewhat washed out, not as vibrant. They do have different packaging and cost 6.99-9.99 depending on size/popularity of bait...

Because of the paint issue on many of the baits on display I didn't pick any up yet. That may change, just lost a couple last week on a snag...

Hope they bring back the Grass Rat

Jarmo Rapala, who is related to Lauri Rapala (the original inventor of the Rapala minnow), is part owner of the new company. However, he and this new company are NOT involved with the Rapala company.
