So I got up at around 6:00am this morning and headed out to Lake Tarpon to fish. The red square is where Im fishing..

Started at about 7:30, on live worms... no luck... I then switched through a bunch of diff baits such as topwater frog, blue/black spinner bait, gold/orange minnow lure, plastic worm fire n ice, red shad... I kept seeing a big fish hit the surface every 15 mins down the river ... but no luck... And I've already tried shiners...

And if I fish the open water say off a pier or something what would the best bait be? Ill be out tomrrow morning

Lake Tarpon is tough for me. I fished that creek during the spawn without any success. I have caught most of my fish in Tarpon offshore on sand bars.

This time of year I would fish a reaction bait like a skinny dipper or rattle trap.
